Alison Whitmire
Executive Coach and Founder of Emergence

In complex, high-stress business situations, clients have called Alison “the voice of reason”. She has the ability to see through to the crux of a matter and articulate it in a way that promotes understanding, clarifies thinking and forwards action.

Working individually with company leaders, Alison helps her clients get off the day to day treadmill to focus on the important over the urgent, to drive toward the strategic over the tactical. She supports her clients in honing their leadership, bringing forward their highest and best self, integrating all aspects of their lives. It’s her ability to make people feel cared for that allows Alison to help her clients confront the aspects of themselves and their organizations that aren’t working.

Alison has worked with more than 50 Puget Sound area CEOs, Presidents, business owners and executive directors of small to medium sized for-profit and non-profit organizations, clarifying and narrowing their focus, accelerating their decision making and forwarding their action. Through their work with Alison, these people have become better leaders, who make better decisions and get better results.

Alison’s career has consisted of both corporate and entrepreneurial experiences. Her corporate experience includes working for such companies as Ernst and Young, Furash Consulting, Bank of America and Medtronic. As an entrepreneur, she started Emergence Coaching and Consulting.

Alison’s background includes experience with organizations in a variety of industries and companies. Functionally, she has intensive experience in strategic planning, financial management, mergers and acquisitions, and sales and marketing.

She earned her degrees in Accounting and Finance from Texas Tech University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. She’s a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and Associate Certified Coach.

Alison’s community service includes work with ASTAR (Autism Spectrum Treatment and Research Center) and Washington C.A.S.H. and working with the leaders of these organizations. Alison was a member of the inaugural board of the Charlotte, NC Race for the Cure and is a past co-chair of the organization. Alison has a passion for running and is a past co-program director for the Jeff Galloway Marathon Training program in Charlotte NC. Alison lives in Newcastle, Washington with her husband, Ken and four year old son, Cole.
